What or who is our greatest enemy? I believe our greatest enemy is fear.
Fear of what or who? Fear of dying to the flesh or dying to self.
What is the flesh? The flesh is a mind-set, a way of thinking, a selfish way of thinking.
Where does this fear come from? The devil or Satan. He is the author of fear. When we were born into this world from our mother's womb, we were born with a sinful nature or the nature of sin or Satan. We were born into the Kingdom of Darkness. Fear reigns in this Kingdom.
This nature is all about self. It involves having our own mind-set, believing that we know what is best for us. We have our own thoughts about how we should live, our own way of doing things, and our own opinions about life.
Isaiah 55:8 says, "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord."
What else are we afraid of? We are afraid to trust God with our life because we are not familiar with Him. We are reluctant to trust someone that we know nothing about.
